The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has awarded the contract for the implementation of the Emergency Plan for the Guadalest Dam to Lafcarr Project & Design SL. 3264 2448 Lafcarr

Its implementation aims to undertake actions aimed at responding to different levels of emergency in this infrastructure. Among other things, the project includes the creation of an emergency room next to the right bank downstream of the dam.

Another planned action is the installation of eight sirens to inform the entire population located within the flood zone during the first half hour following a possible rupture or serious malfunction of the Guadalest Dam. It will be in the current Administration building itself, which “guarantees the availability of the necessary elements for the performance of the functions and actions that must be carried out from it, such as access to instrumentation information and telephone access.” As explained in the specifications, the Administration building “has been recently renovated and is in good condition to fulfill its function.”

The Emergency Plan for the Dam establishes the organization of the human and material resources necessary to control the risk factors that can compromise its safety. It also facilitates the preventive provision of services and resources that must intervene to protect the population in case of rupture or serious malfunction, through the information, alert, and alarm systems established in it, and thus, the potentially affected population can take appropriate self-protection measures.
