  1. What are cookies?

Cookies are text files containing small quantities of information, which are downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are sent back to the original website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognizes them. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognize a user’s device. Cookies can perform different functions such as allowing you to navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving user navigation.

As stated in recital 30 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council, of 27 April 2016, about protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/CE (General Data Protection Regulation), natural persons can be associated with online identifiers provided by their devices, applications, tools and protocols, such as internet protocol addresses, session identifiers in the form of cookies or other identifiers, such as radio frequency identification tags. This can leave traces that, in particular, when combined with unique identifiers and other data received by the servers, can be used to profile and identify individuals. For this reason, the responsible for the treatment, in this case LAFCARR PROJECT & DESIGN S.L., has a Cookies Policy consistent with the applicable regulations.

  1. Who uses the information from cookies?

The collected information is treated by LAFCARR PROJECT & DESIGN S.L. (Lafcarr), with CIF: B-63900898 and registered office at C/ Antoni Rovira Virgili 2-4 17180, Vilablareix, Girona, with contact email address info@lafcarr.com.

The information stored in cookies managed by third parties is used by the external entities detailed in this Cookie Policy.

  1. User’s consent and cookies: general rule and exception

In general, when the installation and/or use of cookies involves the processing of personal data, whether they are own or third party, session or persistent cookies, the respective responsible parties must request the prior informed consent of the user to install and/or use them. Therefore, both obligations must be fulfilled: the duty to inform; and obtaining the user’s consent.

Only those cookies that exclusively allow communication between the user’s computer and the network and, strictly speaking, those used to provide a service requested by the user are exempted from such consent. For example, the so-called “technical cookies” (e.g., those necessary for browsing the platform or application); “personalization or configuration cookies” (e.g., those that allow the page to recognize the user’s language, etc.); and “security cookies” (e.g., to detect erroneous and repeated attempts to connect to a site) are exempted.

  1. Integrated legal policies

In accordance with the above, the Cookies Policy is complemented and integrated with the Legal Notice and Privacy Policy accessible from the same website.

Cookies are used, i.e., files or devices that are downloaded to the user’s terminal equipment (personal computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) regardless of their nature, and in order to store data that can be updated and retrieved by the entity responsible for their installation. Cookies allow browsing the web, as well as certain utilities and services of it, so we hereby warn that their disabling or blocking may affect the use of the website, as well as the aforementioned utilities and services available through it.

  1. What cookies do we use?

Cookies may be own and third party. Own cookies are those that are sent or served to the user’s terminal equipment from the website, being managed by it, while third-party cookies are those that are sent or served to the user’s terminal equipment from other domains or equipment not managed by our website, but by another entity that treats the data obtained through cookies.

Likewise, these cookies may be session or persistent. The first are a type of cookie designed to collect and store data while the user accesses the web with the main purpose of storing information that is only interested in preserving for the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion. However, with the second ones, the data remain stored in the user’s terminal and can be accessed and treated during a period defined by Lafcarr.

Cookies can also be technical by allowing the user to navigate through the website and use the different options or services available through it, for example, to control traffic and data communication, identify the session, access restricted areas, remember the elements that make up a contractual request, use security features during navigation, store content for broadcasting videos or sound or share content through social networks. They can also be of personalization, referring to those that allow the user to access the service with some predefined characteristics according to certain criteria associated with their own terminal, for example, the type of browser through which they access the service, the regional configuration from where they access the service, etc.

Our cookies can be analytical, which are those that allow the party responsible for them to monitor and analyze behavior of users to which they are linked.

The information collected through this type of cookies is used in the measurement of the activity of the website and for the elaboration of profiles of navigation of the users in it, in order to introduce improvements according to the analysis of the data of use made by the users of the service. The information and consent for this type of cookies is carried out separately for each of Lafcarr’s websites.
