The Alfândega Congress Centre in Porto (Portugal) hosted Hydro 2019 from 14 to 16 October, the international conference and exhibition on hydroelectric and power plants, dams, storage plants and pumping stations
Hydro 2019 focused on global issues, especially promoting best practice and advancing hydropower development in less developed countries.
Under the theme ‘Concept to closure: Practical steps’, the emphasis was on sound project preparation and overall planning, finance, innovative approaches to design and construction, safety and disaster risk management, modelling, the selection of robust and efficient equipment, and environmental and social issues.
The conference received more than 400 technical abstracts and brought together around 3,000 participants and 200 companies.
Lafcarr attended with its own stand and gave two talks: one presenting iDam, its groundbreaking dam software, and the other, together with EDP (Energias de Portugal), on warning and alert systems.
