Innovation is not just about patents or devices—it’s also about people. At Lafcarr, we strongly believe in incorporating young talent in R&D as a strategic driver of our technology solutions for early warning and risk management. This aligns with our commitment to local development, knowledge transfer, and intergenerational collaboration.

Our most recent addition is Carlos, a student from the University of Girona, who joins our R&D department for a hands-on internship through the Campus Rural Program—a Spanish government initiative that promotes professional opportunities in rural municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.

Bridging Universities and Rural Innovation

The Campus Rural Program enables university students to gain real-world experience in companies with deep ties to their local communities—like Lafcarr. This partnership allows us to expose young engineers and developers to real technological challenges with social impact.

For Lafcarr, innovation starts in the field, powered by young talent in R&D and committed to protecting lives through technology developed in-house and close to where it’s needed most.

Why We Invest in Young Talent in R&D

1. Future-Driven Talent

Over 20% of our team belongs to Generation Z, a group that brings fresh perspectives to risk management and innovation.
We see generational diversity as a strength: combining the experience of senior professionals with the digital mindset of younger profiles is key to delivering impactful innovation.

2. Strategic Academic Partnerships

Thanks to our collaboration with the University of Girona and the Campus Rural Program, we can engage with emerging talent before they complete their degrees, creating early links between academia and industry.

3. Innovation from Day One

Carlos immediately joined real R&D projects, working side by side with our team on programming, system testing, and the development of iDAM, our proprietary early warning management platform.

This hands-on approach proves the value of young talent in R&D—learning by doing and contributing meaningfully from the very beginning.

Building Innovation from the Ground Up

At Lafcarr, innovation is not just a technological goal—it’s a human commitment. Welcoming Carlos into our R&D department is part of our ongoing mission: to grow from the territory, with global vision, and purpose-driven people.

👥 Special thanks to:

  • The University of Girona, for placing its trust in us as a training partner.

  • The Campus Rural Program, for connecting academic talent with companies in rural areas.

  • And of course, Carlos, for joining this journey of learning, development, and innovation. Welcome aboard!
