The Ebro River Basin Authority (CHE) has awarded the implementation of the emergency plans for the González Lacasa and Pajares reservoirs in La Rioja. The project, with a budget of €407,000 and an eight-month timeframe, has been awarded to the joint venture of OFITECO and Lafcarr Project & Design.
The work includes:
- Fitting out emergency rooms and equipment in the administration buildings of both dams.
- Building a new communications tower at the Pajares reservoir.
- Installing public warning sirens at both dams and at shared strategic points.
The project falls under the Basic Civil Protection Guideline and the Technical Regulation on Dam Safety, improving safety and communication in emergencies for nearby communities.
