Implementation of the acoustic warning system for SEVESO risk in Catalonia

The system consists of a total of 95 sirens with chlorine and gas sensor networks, permanently remotely controlled from the control centers in Tarragona, Barcelona, and Bellaterra.

The remote control and management system of the plan is accessible from any location within the Generalitat de Catalunya network (firefighters, civil protection, city councils, etc.).

The installation is located in the petrochemical complex of Tarragona (with 28 chemical companies such as REPSOL, VINIL, BAYER MATERIAL SCIENCE, BASF), in the Port of Barcelona and other areas with SEVESO risk.

This comprehensive approach ensures an efficient and coordinated response in SEVESO risk situations in Catalonia’s industrial zones.
